When do sign-ups begin?
Registration will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 7pm - 9pm and Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 9am - 12 noon at the Berkley Community Center located at 2400 Robina Street in Berkley.
How do I know which league is right for my child?
The BMC leagues are divided in the following manner (by grade at registration time):
Little Sluggers - 1st & 2nd grades
Elementary - 3rd, 4th & 5th grades
Jr. High - 6th, 7th & 8th grades
High School - 9th, 10th & 11th grades
My child is an excellent player and I would like her to play up?
No. BMC has researched the proper league levels for all of our young players and will not make exceptions for skill level.
When do leagues start?
Teams will be formed in late March/early April with practices starting the week of April 18, 2011. Games begin the week of May 16, 2011.
What days are practice and games on?
This varies depending on what league your player is in. Practice days could typically be any day during the week (including the weekend) for any league. Your child’s coach will determine the exact practice schedule. Game days for Little Sluggers will be on Mondays & Wednesdays; for Elementary will be Mondays & Wednesdays; and for Jr. High will be Tuesdays & Thursdays.
Can I request a particular team?
There is a place on the registration form where you can indicate any special placement requests. The BMC Team Selection Committee tries its best to accommodate these special wishes. However, BMC cannot guarantee that requests will be met.
I am interested in helping out but cannot commit to being a head coach.
The BMC is a volunteer-based organization providing opportunities for our 1400 + ball players. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with our program. Please consider being an assistant coach. You are also invited to attend one of the BMC board meetings held in the Berkley Recreation Center.
